Unripened Tomato

I finally finished "Tomato". It took me about a month to finish but I am glad it's finally done!

I made the neckline higher up and made the ribbing at the bottom longer, it fits really good and is very comfortable.

I used Lion Brand Cotton Ease and really enjoyed working with it. The main colour is Almond and the fair isle is white and so I call it the "Unripened Tomato".
Ignore the date on the image, I forgot to change the date on the camera, but I finished it on July 31st, 2007

Clogs on the go

Lately I have put down the CPH sweater to work on some felted clogs by fiber trends, but I can't wait to get back to my sweater, I really want that done.
I am enjoying the clogs, and am hurrying to make some for my dad for his birthday. If I don't get them done in time, he will just have to wait :)
I really need to do a clean out of my stash, its far too big but I just don't know what to do with it all. I was thinking of taking a lot of it to the senior's residence and maybe some of the old ladies there would enjoy knitting with it. Some of the yarns are years old, and stuff I really wouldn't even think of knitting up, not in fashion anymore hehe.
My problem is, whenever I start a new project, I have to get new yarn for it....That is a BIG problem! Oh what to do with all this yarn?

On the Needles

Right now I am working on the Central Park Hoodie in the CPH KAL.

I have done the back and almost done the left front. I am really looking forward to having this finished asap.

I have also knitted socks, the ones here are for my daughter Jessica, but she found them too itchy with the wool content, so they end up being mine. I am going to get some Cascade Fixation tomorrow and knit socks up for her and hope she finds them more comfortable.

Our arrival in Canada

A little more about me.....

I came to Canada by ship (HMS Carinthia) in August of 1967. It was the final voyage of that ship and we left Liverpool, England with my mother and brother. My Dad flew over to Canada before we arrived so that he could find work. Here is a newspaper clipping of the ship we sailed on and it made the newspaper because it was the final voyage of that ship.

This is me on Christmas day
I am surprised I don't have a set of knitting needles in hands.

My first day

I am really trying to get a handle on this blog thing.
A little about myself first.....
I love to Knit socks, sweaters, anything that requires wool, a chance to sit down and relax, and time to create. I am addicted to knitting, I love the feel of the wool going through my fingers at lightening speed.
Now if I can just find the time from knitting to actually write in this blog! hehe.
